CCTV Operation Policies

Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas and InterContinental Seoul COEX (hereinafter the "Hotels") set the policy on operating and managing CCTVs and their footage.

1. Legal Basis and Purpose of Installing CCTV

The Hotels install and operate CCTV for the following purposes in accordance with Article 25-1 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

  • Safety of facilities and fire prevention
  • Prevention of criminal activities for the safety of guests
2. Quantity, Location and Coverage of CCTVs

The Hotels collect personal information to provide services for guests while keeping the information they collect to a minimum.

4. Recording Time, Storage Period, Location and Disposal Method

  • Method of disposal: Any requests made pertaining to video footage including its unauthorized use, third-party disclosure, destruction, and access are recorded and managed. All information is deleted beyond recovery upon expiration (printed materials are shredded or incinerated).
5. How and Where to Check Personal Video Data
  • How to check: Contact the video data manager in advance and visit the hotel.
  • Unit: Security Department, General Affairs Team
6. Handling Request for Viewing Video Data

You may request viewing and deleting your video footage to the CCTV Manager at any time. However, you have to be in the footage: this is required for your safety and the protection of your property. The Hotels will respond to such requests immediately.

7. Security of Video Data

All video data processed by the Hotels are protected and managed through encryption. In addition, the Hotels control the access to personal video data as part of their administrative measures and maintain their records including the date of creation, purpose and date of access, and people who accessed such records for the prevention of modification. The personal video data is locked for physical security.

8. Revision of CCTV Policy

This CCTV Policy was established on March 30, 2012 and may be added, deleted, or modified. In that case, the reason and nature of such changes will be posted on the hotel website at least 7 days in advance.
