CCTV Operation Policies

Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas and InterContinental Seoul COEX (hereinafter the "Hotels") established this policy on operating and managing CCTVs and their video data to provide information on how and for what purpose they are used.

1. Legal Basis and Purpose of Installing CCTVs

The Hotels install and operate CCTV for the following purposes in accordance with Article 25-1 of the Personal Information Protection Act:

  • Safety of facilities and fire prevention
  • Prevention of criminal activities for the safety of guests
2. Quantity, Location and Coverage of CCTVs

The Hotels collect the following personal information to the minimum extent necessary to provide services for guests:

  • If video data needs to be retained for an additionalperiod of time due to a certain incident, it may be backed up and kept for up to 90 days from the date of the incident with the approval of the head of Security.
  • Method of disposal: Any requests made pertaining to video data including its unauthorized use, third-party disclosure, destruction, and access are recorded and managed. All information is deleted beyond recovery upon expiration (printed materials are shredded or incinerated).
5. How and Where to Check Personal Video Data
  • How to check: Contact the video data manager in advance and visit the hotel.
  • Unit: Room Management Dept., Security Team
6. Handling Requeststo Access Video Data

You may request viewing and deletion ofyour video footage via the CCTV Manager at any time. However, it is limited to the video footage that you are in and required for your safety and the protection of your property. The Hotels will take necessary measures immediately in response these requests.

7. Security of Video Data

The Hotels take necessary security measures such as encryption to ensure video data is protected. In addition, the Hotels control access to personal video data as part of our administrative measures and keep records including the date of creation, purpose and date of access, and people who accessed such records for the prevention of unauthorized modification. All personal video data is locked and kept in a secure location.

8. Revision of Privacy Policy

This CCTV Operation & Management Policy was established on March 30, 2012. If this policy is added, deleted, or modified as required by laws and regulations or due to a change in security technology, the Hotels will announce the reason and nature of such changes on the website at least 7 days prior to their effective date.
